Step 1: Download and install Soundflower on your Mac.

Step 2: Open Audio MIDI Setup. You can find it through the Search bar (Command + Space).

Step 3: Click the “Plus Button” at the bottom left corner > “Create Multi-Output Device” > Choose “Build-In Output” and “Soundflower” at the same time.

Note:

Build-In Output has to be set as the Master Device. Otherwise, you can’t hear any sound while recording. 

You can double click the “Multi-Output Device” icon to rename it. Here you see it is “Screen Record W/Audio”

Step 4: Go to “System Preference” > “Sound” > “Output” > Change your “Output” to the newly created “Multi-Output Device”. (Here you see the renamed one “Screen Record w/Audio”)

 

Step 5: Start recording.

Press “Shift + Command + 5” > “Record the Entire Screen” or “Record Selected Portion” > “Options” > “Microphone” > “Soundflower” > “Record”.

You can rename this newly created “Aggregated Device”. Here you see it is “Soundflower Input”

How to Mac Screen Record with Internal Audio Using QuickTime Player

Step 1: Open QuickTime Player on your Mac.

There are two ways for you to find QuickTime Player on your Mac.

  • Find it through the Application folder, then double click to open it.
  • Find it through the search bar, then tap “QuickTime Player” into the search bar to get it. 

To open the search bar, click the magnifying glass icon in the menu bar in the upper right corner or press “Command + Space” on your keyboard.

Step 2: Check the menu bar in the upper left corner to open “File” > “New Screen Recording”, then a screen recording window will pop up to help you with how to screen record on mac with internal audio.
